Paradigm is a cigar journal app. Scan a band to identify a cigar, log what you thought of it, and keep a private, searchable record of what you’ve actually smoked.
When you join, you tell us how you take your cigars — strength, the flavours you reach for, the ones you’d rather avoid. From then on, every scan comes back with a Tasting Match: Likely or Unlikely, and the reason behind it. It works on your very first scan, and gets sharper with every cigar you rate — learning your brands, your wrappers, your strengths.
The Tasting Match answers “should I smoke this one?” Recommendations answer “what should I reach for next?” Open the app and the feed leads with picks drawn from your own journal — each card carrying the reason it’s there — then Experiment, Top rated and Critics’ Choice.
No. Paradigm runs in your browser. For the full experience, open it on your phone and add it to your home screen — it opens full-screen, with its own icon, exactly like an installed app.
Almost certainly. There are 11,519 cigars indexed — Cuban and New World, from Cohiba and Montecristo to small-batch Nicaraguans and Dominicans. Point the camera at the band and you’ll usually have a name in a few seconds.
Bands get worn, dim, or wrapped in cellophane. When one defeats the camera, the full catalogue is a search away — pick your cigar by hand and carry on. The scan is a shortcut, never the only way in.
The Ratings board ranks every cigar members have scored. On a cigar’s own page you see how other members rated it — their star score, their tasting assessment, and the comments they left. And more is coming: a shared feed is built and being tested now.
